However, nestled in one of the Seven Wonders of the World is a treasure of sites that very few come close in comparison. Whether in terms of sheer physical size, awe striking beauty or the tranquility and the ability to shut out the rest of the world, the Great Barrier Reef stands tall. With more and more people discovering its beauty and riches including the Whitsunday cruise, it is slowly becoming the holiday destination of choice.

With its numerous activities which include sailing the Whitsunday islands and a lot of diving, cruising and snorkeling, it is almost impossible to visit all the 74 inhabited islands out of the 900 in the Great Barrier Reef. This island is located at the North part of the Great Barrier Reef islands. It has a unique location for touring the rest of the islands. The service and elegance of everything makes this a great place to set camp. It also offers you easy access to the reef. It has tropical gardens and hundreds of bird species thus a haven for bird watchers. The top most attraction however is the Hayman pool. This legendary pool is seven times an Olympic pool thus a great place for water sports.

The Fraser Island

This is also a unique island that comes with a unique number of characteristics too. First it is the largest sand island in the whole world. It is also the only place where rainforests grow in sand dunes. The beauty of the scenery is added with sand cliff adorning the white sand beaches.

These three top sites are just a tip of the iceberg with so many other top places like Whitsunday island and the Whitehaven beach. This makes the Great Barrier Reef a place you have to spare enough time to enjoy the enormous richness that abounds here.
